Hateruma Island is located around 60km southwest of Ishigaki, outside of the Sekisei Lagoon.

As it is outside of the calm lagoon area, we can go there only when the sea condition is totally calm.

Today was forecasted to be the day – when we woke up, however, the forecast changed, and the wind started to blow softly.

We were not sure if we can make it, so we cautiously cruised down south.

First, we stopped at Taketomi for a warm-up dive.

The patch reefs were covered with tons of Luminous cardinalfish.

There were lots of juvenile Fusiliers, too.

The water visibility was good, but this is not today’s destination…

After the second dive at Panari Island and lunch, we took off to Hateruma!

The outer sea was a bit rough as expected, but we finally made it!

The surface area was quite brought with chops and waves, but the water was super clear blue!

Beautiful white sand and blue water… Simply breathtaking.

Only one dive… but we made it!

Diving in this super clear cobalt blue water is worth a long trip, and hope everyone enjoyed it!

Typhoon #6 is born, southwest of Kyushu, and is forecasted to have no impact on the Ishigaki area.

The weather is expected to be cloudy with some rain.

Glad it won’t be burning hot!
