The condition around the port in the morning was calm, but the wind and swells suddenly picked up after our departure and stayed so all day…

The north wind was chilly, and it felt like we were back in winter.

It was much warmer in the water, so it was good for diving 🙂

Today we cruised around the west side of Ishigaki Island for three dives.

Osaki – we often come here, but not enough to run out of new things.

Miamira flavicostata – this nudibranch is very rare around here.

A baby Whitetip reef shark, probably around 50cm long.

Giant cuttlefish – they are still around 🙂

There were many Longfin batfish today.

They swim very slowly, and great for underwater video.

Luminous cardinalfish is growing in number.

They are still tiny, but they will grow in size and number toward summer!

Stout chromis is not rare, but my eyes are always hooked to the beautiful color of juveniles…

A juvenile Whitespotted boxfish.

This Painted spiny lobster was huge.

It’s antena was probably around 1m long.

We met schools of Indian mackerel during all three dives today!

Probably the same group, and it was probably moving around the Osaki area all day.

Cleaner shrimp – can you see small eyes in the eggs??

A juvenile Chromis anadema.

Adults are simply black, and not cute (lol)

We celebrated the 200th memorial dive for one of our guests today!

The ground temperature is forecasted to be 22C tomorrow – another winter-like day??
