April is special in Japan. It is the start of new school year. On top of that, name of the new era was announced today – Heisei will be over at the end of this month, and Reiwa will start from May 1.

It was a cold cloudy day here… wind was blowing from the north, so we cruised to quiet area of Osaki and Nagura for three dives.

Eggs of anemonefish will be hatching soon, and the parents were working hard to blow flesh water on them 🙂

And two new Open Water Divers were born today! Congratulations Stephanie and Ryan!

It is probably the peak season for cherry blossom in the main parts of Japan. There are not many cherry trees here in Ishigaki, but you can see similar beauty under the water at Osaki Purple Queen Reef 🙂

Water temperature is not too hot yet for nudibranchs.

Personally, I like the crowd of Blue green chromis moving over corals better than cherry blossom 🙂

Hope it will be sunny tomorrow!
